“One of the biggest problems I see is people wearing the wrong size shoes,” said Dr. Jeane Watson of Gainesville Podiatry Clinic.  “We get it in our head that we are a certain number and we just go for that size, but all shoes have different shapes, and some are made smaller than others.”

Watson mentioned shoes should not fit close to the toe because it can cause toenail problems, blisters or hammertoes, especially with certain styles of shoes.
