While shoes such as flip-flops and sandals can be dangerous for your feet, Dr. Saylee Tulpule says wedges make a good alternative. "Wedges are popular with my female patients. They look airy and cute and fashionable. I like them for a couple of reasons: The height of a good wedge is an inch or so. A heel made of cork provides good shock absorption, and a wide toe-box keeps the toes from crunching together," says Tulpule.
