PODIATRIST STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTATIVE FOOT CARE

When it comes to geriatric foot health, veteran podiatrist Dr. Gary Hobermanpreaches the importance of prevention. He recognizes that the risks of surgery are not worthwhile for many older adults, and he provides his patients with alternative solutions to their foot issues. "Our goal is to prevent the need for acute treatment," said Hoberman.

Proper hygiene is another crucial component of good foot health. Hoberman says when showering, older adults should wash and dry between their toes to prevent common fungus problems. Additionally, Hoberman stresses the importance of seeking immediate care when any foot issue arises.
