High heels can cause a number of foot problems but what most people don't realize is that they create a number of postural problems that can result in knee, hip, low back, neck pain and even headaches. I know that they are fashionable and they apparently improve the look of your calves, but are really not good for your health. Most Podiatrists, Chiropodists and Chiropactors agree that they are detrimental to your health. They are a big boost to our profession as many of the injuries that we see are due to the wearing of high heels. If you must wear high heels, it is recommended that you replace them with running shoes when going to and from work and at work when you are not meeting with the public. After 30 years in practice as a Chiropractor I have learned that most women abide by the saying that states " It is not how you feel but how you look". Dr. John A. Hardy
