IN 2012 A FLORIDA WOMAN SUED VIBRAM SHOES FOR $3.75 MILLION CLAIMING THAT THEY HAD NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF FOR THE CLAIMS THEY WERE MAKING REGARDING THEIR FIVEFINGERS.  THE CLAIM STATED THAT THE SHOE COMPANY CLAIMED THAT THE SHOE WOULD IMPROVE POSTURE, STRENGTH AND BALANCE WITH NO MEDICAL PROOF.  VIBRAM AGREED TO SETTLE THE CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT, BUT DIDN'T ADMIT WRONGDOING.

MANY PEOPLE ARE USING THIS SHOE AND MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO BE HAPPY WITH THEM.  ACADEMY FOOT AND ORTHOTIC CLINICS SUGGESTS CAUTION BEFORE STARTING TO USE THEM.  IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THEM PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU START VERY GRADUALLY TO SEE IF THEY ARE RIGHT FOR YOU. THE THEORY BEHIND RUNNING 'NATURALLY IS NOT UNREASONABLE, BUT TO A PERSON USED TO WEARING FOOT WEAR ALL THEIR LIFE, IT MAY NOT BE PRACTICAL.

IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE REQUIRES COMPETENT, HONEST ADVICE OR QUALITY FOOT CARE OR CUSTOM ORTHOTICS, PLEASE DO HESITATE TO CONTACT ACADEMY FOOT AND ORTHOTIC CLINICS AT 416-465-8737.
