A study in the December 2017 Issue of the Journal of Foot and Ankle Researchfound that foot pain is rampant in the U.S. and roughly 25% of adults said they go through recurring foot pain. It also reported that one out of six people over 50 years old admitted to be suffering from the signs of foot osteoarthritis. In addition, the report showed the interconnection of foot pain and other joint pains which affect both wellness and quality of life.

"In most situations, people do not pay attention to foot pain and brush it off thinking that it is something of no consequence," says Peter Wishnie, DPM. "Other people are completely in the dark in matters concerning foot care. Unfortunately, foot pain that is not given the attention it needs could easily deteriorate and result in the need for surgery. However, feet can be restored to good condition without surgery, and foot care can deal with any problem as soon as possible," says Dr. Wishnie.
