PODIATRISTS DISCUSSES PLANTAR FASCIITIS

According to podiatrist Dr. Matthew Neuhaus, "One of the most common conditions that podiatrists see is heel pain or plantar fasciitis. People injure their plantar fascia from poor footwear, from standing on concrete at work, or from running, or a number of other reasons. The ligament becomes inflammed and swollen, and it is hard to heal because we are constantly walking on it."

"You need a supportive shoe, but one that bends where your foot bends. In many cases, orthotics are the answer for plantar fasciitis. A custom-made orthotic is superior to an over-the-counter orthotic because it provides much more support," says Dr. Neuhaus.
