PODIATRISTS DISCUSS WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN SHOE BUYING

Podiatrists Drs. Steven Rosenberg and Jaleh Hoorfar state, "first, look for shoes with good arch support. It won't be an easy task. Most fashion-geared shoes don't provide adequate support. To tell if yours do, look for padding that is thicker around the edges and where your arch naturally fits in the shoe. For the longest-lasting and most comfortable wear, look for good quality suede or leather shoes. Leather allows your foot to "breathe," helping it feel more comfortable and reducing odors. Leather also stretches, conforming to the size and shape of your foot. Fabric won't do that. And if you purchase a quality, soft leather, your shoes will last for years."

At our Toronto foot clinic, Academy Foot and Orthotic Clinics we educate all of our patients in proper foot wear.  The root cause of many people's foot problems originate with their foot wear. Having a proper foundation and proper support is essential for proper foot health.

If you or a loved one requires honest, quality advice, foot care or custom orthotics, look no further than our foot clinic.  We are open 7 days, early till late, less than 100 yards from the Broadview Subway Station for our beloved patients.  We always treat our patients like family!
