PODIATRIST STATES THAT SUPPORTIVE FOOTWEAR CAN PREVENT FUTURE PROBLEMS

Now that the warm weather is here, people are ditching the boots and sliding on the flip-flops. Katie Foley says she wears her flip flops nearly every day in the summer and now she's paying the price. According to podiatrist Dr. David High, this is something he sees all too often. “It can start as foot pain or you might not even have foot pain" said Dr. High. "It's going to alter your gait which is going to affect your knees, your hips, your back, even your shoulders,” said Dr. High.

Dr. High says people should be wearing footwear with some kind of arch support. He says this will save you a lot of underlying problems down the line. “Many of these, if they're not diagnosed and treated, can go on to becoming issues that could be chronically painful requiring medications, injections, and therapy,” said Dr. High.
