Susanna Reid recently spoke to podiatrist Matthew Fitzpatrick who debunks skinny jeans and high heels as hazards. The interview comes as a woman in Australia spent 4 days in the hospital after squatting for long periods of time wearing skinny jeans, which led to blood being cut off and eventually swelling. Fitzpatrick said, "any amount of squatting or physical activity in skinny jeans can affect the nerves and end up in swelling due to that."

"With high heels, it's not the fact you are wearing high heels; it's the period of time you are wearing high heels for, which is bad for you...any sort of inflammation or irritation is bad for the nerves," said Fitzpatrick.
