Podiatrist Dr. Catherine Moyer states, "it’s the age old problem every single woman faces throughout her shoe-filled life: the pain and discomfort associated with wearing fabulous heels. Many of us have throughout the years adopted a 'grin and bear it' attitude, choosing our love for stylish shoes over our desire to be comfortable. But, as it turns out, fabulous heels and pain-free feet aren’t mutually exclusive."  Podiatrist and podiatry expert Dr. Catherine Moyer, who gave us some tips for how to continue to wear stylish shoes — without paying the price in comfort.

1. Make sure you are wearing the right size shoe. 2. Educate yourself on your own personal foot type. 3. The thicker the heel, the better. 4. Avoid thin soles, opting instead for a platform. 5. Take breaks. 6. Stretch your feet after you take your shoes off.

Dr. Hardy's Toronto Foot Clinic, Academy Foot and Orthotic Clinics always recommends to our patients that they try to always avoid high heels.  Women have foot problems at a ratio of 4 to 1when compared to men and improper foot wear is to blame in many instances.  Never wear heels more than 1 inch higher  than the sole as this leads to biomechanical problems.
