New York Podiatrist, Dr. Rock Positano states, "what happens in a plantar fascia injury is you often feel a sudden burst, like a knife going through your foot.  It's one of the more unpleasant, uncomfortable problems that an athlete or another person can experience. It's very rare for a person just to completely snap their plantar fascia, or even get a tear right away. Many who experience a tear "actually have the beginning of a plantar fascia injury a long time before they actually get the symptoms.  There's a progression of this problem.  Leaving the injury undiagnosed or untreated can lead to other problems, mainly in the lower leg, the knee, the hip, or the back.  You see it all the way up the chain."

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common injuries that we see in our Toronto foot clinic, Academy Foot and Orthotic Clinics and we have great success with our treatment.  Our clinic has a complete array of physical therapy modalities in each one of our 8 treatment rooms.

If you or a loved one requires honest, competent advice, foot care or custom orthotics, please do not hesitate to contact us at 416-465-8737.
