RUNNING FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES A DAY SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK MAY ADD UP TO THREE YEARS TO YOUR LIFESPAN ACCORDING TO AN ARTICLE IN THE NATIONAL POST.

APPARENTLY GENTLE EXERCISE IS AS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR HEALTH AS QUITTING SMOKING. A STUDY WHICH WAS CONDUCTED OVER A PERIOD OF 15 YEARS OF 55,000 PEOPLE AGED BETWEEN 18 AND 100  FOUND THAT JOGGERS WERE 30% LESS LIKELY TO DIE DURING THE PERIOD THAN COUCH POTATOES AND 45% LESS LIKELY TO DIE OF A HEART ATTACK OR STROKE.  THESE FINDINGS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY.

THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS THAT MODERATE EXERCISE WILL KEEP YOU ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE GRASS LONGER THAN THOSE WHO DON'T EXERCISE.   MY LOVELY WIFE, MARZ IS AN AVID RUNNER WHO RUNS 6 TO 7 KILOMETERS 3 TO 4 TIMES PER WEEK.
