PODIATRIST, DR. MALLORY PRZBLSKI STATES, "HOW CAN YOU TELL IF AN INGROWN TOENAIL IS INFECTED?  WHAT YOU LOOK FOR IS A RED OR SWOLLEN NAIL BORDER.  USUALLY YOU WILL SEE SOME DRAINAGE, AND IT WILL BE PAINFUL TO TOUCH AND TO FOOTGEAR.  ONE WAY TO PREVENT INGROWN TOENAILS IS WIDENING THE FOOTGEAR.  A LOT OF TIMES WE WILL SEE CHILDREN WITH INGROWN TOENAILS BECAUSE THEIR SHOES ARE TOO TIGHT.  THEIR FEET GROW BUT THEY FORGET TO TELL MOM THAT THEY FEEL PAIN.  IF YOU CAN AVOID TIGHT SOCKS OR FOOTGEAR, YOU CAN SOMETIMES AVOID THIS PROBLEM."

NOT EVERY INGROWN TOENAIL REQUIRES SURGERY WHERE THE NAIL OR A PART OF THE NAIL ARE SURGICALLY REMOVED.  OIF WE CAN AVOID SURGERY, WE WILL, BUT IF SURGERY IS REQUIRES WE A SYSTEM WHERE WE USE A COMPUTERIZED DEVICE CALLED THE WAND WHICH MAKES THE INJECTION PAINFUL AND THEREFORE THE WHOLE PROCEDURE PAIN FREE.

IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE REQUIRES HONEST, COMPETENT FOOT CARE OR CUSTOM ORTHOTICS FROM FOOT CARE SPECIALISTS WHO REALLY CARE, THEN PLEASE CONTACT US AT 416-465-8737.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY DR. JOHN A. HARDY, OWNER OF ACADEMY FOOT AND ORTHOTIC CLINICS.
