KERYFLEX NAIL CAN RESTORE APPEARANCE OF NAILS

KeryFlex Nail Restoration is a painless, in-office nail restoration tool that gives the appearance of a real nail. This type of restoration can benefit many individuals including those suffering from fungal nails, nails that were damaged by trauma, nails that are too thin or too thick and nails that have multiple defects. KeryFlex is made from a composite resin which creates a flexible, durable, non-porous nail that allows the nail underneath to continue to grow. KeryFlex is not damaged by acetone, nail polishes or detergent. KeryFlex can only be used if the individual has a nail and is not applicable to individuals that have lost their toe nail or have had it removed indefinitely.

Before a keryflex procedure, it is important to remove as much unhealthy nail as possible – you need 15% of normal nail to attach the KeryFlex. KeryFlex bond is then applied to the nail which contains agents that help bond the resin to the nail. KeryFlex resin consists of compounds when exposed to UV light can form molecules. The KeryFlex resin is applied in layers starting distally. It is important to know that as the natural nail grows the KeryFlex will also grow out and it will need to be drilled down or cut to avoid discomfort and reduce the risk of it being damaged. It is important to avoid hitting the KeryFlex nail and long-distance running may cause trauma to the nail. Individuals with peripheral vascular disease, neuropathy and arterial insufficiency and ingrown toenails may not be candidates for KeryFlex.
