DIABETICS ARE AT A HIGHER RISK FOR FROST-BITE
posted: Jan. 11, 2019.
Weather can affect a lot of things. A local podiatrist says cold conditions can be tough on diabetic patients. Dr. Ramy Fahim says people with diabetes are at a higher risk for getting frostbite. He says that if you have diabetes, it's important to check your feet and to stay active.

"Continue checking the feet -- keep them warm. Activity is good. The more walking -- in the appropriate shoe of course -- would improve circulation and potentially prevent bigger problems from happening." Dr. Fahim says if you have a cut or concern about your foot, you should see a foot specialist.
