RIP HAMILTON, GUARD FOR THE CHICAGO BULLS UNDERWENT AN  MRI SUNDAY EVENING WHERE THE RESULTS INDICATED THAT HE HAS TORN HIS PLANTAR FASCIA.  HE HURT HIMSELF SATURDAY IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE BULL'S 93-88 VICTORY OVER THE PHILADELPHIA 76ERS.  HE HAD TO BE HELPED OFF THE COURT AS HE COULDN'T BEAR TO PUT ANY WEIGHT ON HIS FOOT WHICH LED TO EARLY SPECULATION THAT HE HAD TORN HIS ACHILLES TENDON.

THE 13 YEAR VETERAN SAID HE FELT SOMETHING 'POP' IN THE BOTTOM OF HIS FOOT.  THE PLANTAR FASCIA IS A THICK BAND OF TISSUE WHICH CONNECTS THE HEEL TO THE FOREFOOT.  HE WILL BE OUT INDEFINITELY, BUT WILL PROBABLY BE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS OR LONGER.  IN THE MEAN TIME HE WILL BE UNDERGOING INTENSIVE PHYSIOTHERAPY TO HELP HEAL THIS INJURY.

AT ACADEMY FOOT AND ORTHOTIC CLINICS WE HAVE ALL THE LATEST PHYSIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT TO TREAT SOFT TISSUE INJURIES SUCH AS THE ONE EXPERIENCED BY RIP HAMILTON.  WE ALSO EDUCATE OUR PATIENTS IN HOME CARE SUCH AS STRETCHING, EXERCISES, ICE, ETC.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY DR. HARDY AND MARZ HARDY, D.Ch., B.Sc., PODIATRIC MEDICINE, TORONTO FOOT SPECIALIST AND TORONTO CHIROPODIST AND THE TEAM FROM ACADEMY FOOT AND ORTHOTIC CLINICS.
